Military permanent impairment medicine

If you have been requested to complete an assessment for Permanent Impairment, Initial Liability and/or Diagnosis related to your Military Service, please request to see Dr Phillis, where DVA will make a referral to MLCOA. 

Dr Phillis is a former DVA Contracted Medical Advisor and is experienced in the interpretation of Medical Reports including Service Medical Records, GP and Non-GP Specialist Reports, imaging reports, pathology reports, GARP Assessment Principles, Defence Related WPI using Comcare 2.1 and LOEU Assessments. Dr Phillis has in-depth understanding of the MRCA, DRCA and VEA and has overseen and performed a plethora of Permanent Impairment Assessments for DVA.

Dr Phillis deeply understands the intersection between DVA and Veterans, and has specific in-depth DVA medical advisory experience arising from his experience working within DVA that is quite distinct from the Defence Health System, such as the nature and language used in DVA permanent impairment medical assessments and is a Certified Impairment Rater (CIR).
